Great Remix of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home
Artist Collective posted a fantastic remix of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' "Home" four months ago. I just found it this weekend.
The alternate take on this lovely American Gothic track lends the song a bleak, haunting soundscape. Small touches like the lilting piano and the whistle that replaces the horns in the post-chorus take away any sense of irony there might have been in the original. As a result, the song comes of sounding more heartfelt and tender.
I won't go so far as to say that I prefer this to the original, but it's definitely an interesting take on a great song:
